About this activity
A giant uppercase letter is a wide toy road on a play mat. The child drags a chunky toy car along it in school stroke order, paints the road in bright colour, sees a stunt at the road's end and pokes a toy whose name starts with that letter. Three letters per play.
What students learn
- Recognise three uppercase letters by shape and name
- Feel each letter's path from its starting point in school stroke order, by driving a toy car along it
- Hear that a letter goes with a word that starts with its sound (L is for lion)
