About this activity
A side-scrolling platformer where the same jump behaves differently on six worlds. Before each gate the student predicts which world's gravity (and later which run-up) lands the jump, then hops to see the consequence.
What students learn
- D2.4: use the terms force, work, displacement and energy to describe one jump on six worlds
- D2.5: use W = F x d to predict how far the same work from the legs moves the astronaut when the weight (the force) changes
- Compare a jetpack's push with weight (mass x gravity) to predict whether it can lift the astronaut
