About this activity
A live team board game for the big screen: every team answers the same money challenge on phones, moves by how many of its members got it right, and buys shops, pays rent and makes change in dollars and cents.
What students learn
- Add and subtract money to the cent by lining up the decimal points and regrouping (5.NBT.7)
- Multiply money by a whole number and by a decimal, placing the point by counting decimal places
- Divide money evenly by a whole number and check the share by multiplying
- Choose the operation a money situation needs: a total, change, rent, a fair share, a unit price or a price by weight
