About this activity
A lantern was lit in the locked attic during a Halloween costume party. Students search four rooms, mark the clue lines in each document, sort every clue into Proves or Only suggests on a T-chart, then name the guest and back the name with the two lines that prove it.
What students learn
- C1.1 Read short texts (a guest list, notes, a timetable, a diary page) and pick out the lines that matter to a question
- C3.2 Make inferences from explicit and implicit evidence, and tell evidence that proves a conclusion from evidence that only suggests it
