About this activity
A 3D platformer across six floating sky islands. At every gate the student hears a word and sees its picture, then spells it by jumping onto letter platforms in order. Each island teaches one long-vowel spelling pattern, and later islands mix them.
What students learn
- Hear a one-syllable word and tell a short vowel from a long vowel (RF.2.3.A)
- Spell long a, e, i and o with silent e and with the vowel teams ai, ay, ee, ea, oa, ow and igh (RF.2.3.B)
- Generalize a learned pattern to new words: cape → cake, rain → snail, light → night (L.2.2.D)
