**The Concept:** The whole class helps two woodland critters — a raccoon and an owl — fill their lantern jars with fireflies before nightfall. Each round, the teacher taps to release fireflies into each jar one at a time while the class counts aloud together, then the class argues it out and votes by show of hands on whether the raccoon's jar or the owl's jar has more, fewer, or the same number of fireflies — before the teacher clicks to line the fireflies up into matching glowing pairs, revealing the true answer as any leftover fireflies float free and blink. Rounds grow from tiny, obviously different jars up to close calls near ten, keeping the whole room counting and predicting together. **The Hook:** The one-to-one matching reveal makes invisible comparison visible — leftover fireflies literally break formation and blink brighter, showing exactly "how many more" without anyone needing to say a number.
